In the summer of 2007 OneWorld was operating in the Brauni sim along with a beginning of a retail area, an idea for a formal dance place called Formal Affair, and an operating venue called Stairway to Rock, later changed to Hot Rocks (two seperate managers/founders Summer Gulick with the assistance of "The Dude", Lewbowski, and later by Borday Moo and his team. Roll Over Beethoven's was next door in Gemella and the Rob family was most pleased to have Susannah Clary operating OneWorld, which at the time was an interesting combination of Euro, Blues, Rock and Country music. The Country Music nights were well attended which allowed it (OneWorld) to be the initial home of what would become an amazing new Rob Venue Called Rob's Barn Dance. Much of the inspiration for the Barn came from an understanding that Country music is a very popular and widely accepted form of music for the masses in the "new" country music, while many at Robs had an appreciation for the "Classic" country music. One of the best OneWorld attended events was when SongDog Woolley would play her inexhaustable selection of older country gems to an appreciative audience.
One of our most ardent fans for the country music was Kelley Soderstrom. On a day when I (Lazuli Pooraka) had again tried to build an attractive Barn and again had been stumped, Kelley came by to offer her enthusiastic endorsment for the venture and at some point in the conversation the offer was made for Kelley, to give the building of the barn a shot herself! As they say, the rest is history, and at that moment Rob's Barn Dance was born, as its own venue, in the swampy lowlands of Brauni, becoming the fourth member of the Rob music venue family.
Kelley has created a fantastic and fun place for people to come and enjoy themselves! Kelley, having worked with Susannah and the rest of the Rob supporters, hit the ground running, found innovative ways to create more interest in the Barn, which quickly became a strong venue. Kelley should be given the credit for much of what Rob's Barn Dance is today. Kelley is also a fun and exciting DJ and, although not "out" of Second Life is not able to dedicate her time to the Rock Island adventure as much as she had. Whenever Kelley is able to come in and visit we are all extremly pleased to see her, and she will always be welcome, in whatever capacity she chooses to participate in the future. Today the barn is presided over by VikkiLynn Capronni, with a host of DJs and LeeAnn Blinker helping out as a fun hip-swinging hostess.
